Lagos: Ampri Global Limited has on Monday, 08 February 2021 accepted a settlement offer of $50,000 from Luminous Power Tech PVT Ltd in an $82,000 breach of contract suit. The suit had been referred to the Lagos State Multi-Door Court House for Mediation by the Lagos State High Court after it retained its jurisdiction. The Defendant IN 2018 filed a Notice of Preliminary Objection challenging the jurisdiction of the Court on the ground that parties agreed to be bound by Indian Law.
During mediation which held virtually between January and February 2021, Luminous made a settlement offer of $50,000 which was accepted by Ampri Global. The Terms of Settlement has since been executed by parties and same entered as the judgment of the Lagos State High Court.
This brings to an end a legal battle that started since December 2017.
