Our advocacy and dispute resolution practice has thrived on our policy of prompt and diligent representation of our client’s interest in whichever dispute resolution forum suits our client’s peculiar needs on a case to case basis. We have over time represented different clients in different dispute resolution fora within Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Some of our experiences/achievements in dispute resolution include the following:

  • One of our Lawyers was a member and head of the team that successfully represented Gaslink Nigeria Limited in obtaining an order by the Federal High Court setting aside an Arbitral Award in the sum of N36,466,597.00 made by an Arbitral Panel that included the famous Mrs Funke Adekoya SAN, against Gaslink. The same team also successfully defended Gaslink in a suit before the Lagos State High Court in which the Claimant’s sought to restrain Gaslink from enforcing the terms of a Gas Supply Contract.
  • The Firm recently recovered the sum of well over N500,000,000.00 on behalf of one of the leading Banks in Nigeria.
  • Some of the lawyers in the firm where very important members of the team in Paul Usoro & Co. that Wound-up Hallmark Bank, Eagle Bank and Liberty Bank.
  • We are also joint Counsel in a suit for the recovery of about US$5,000,000 on behalf of a Bahamian company, HITEC Energy, against one of the leading oil servicing companies in Nigeria.
  • We also represented Talaveras, one of the leading oil companies in Nigeria in the arrest of a Greek vessel, M.T. Quartya in a suit instituted to recover well over US$ 2,000,000.00 against the vessel owners.
  • We were co-counsel in a suit before the Federal High Court in which we successfully defended an oil commodity trading company and secured the release of over 500,000MT of AGO.
  • One of our Clients was recently awarded N100,000,000 damages in a Fundamental Right Suit against the Nigerian Army.
  • We also successfully, in 2019, on behalf of some members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), stopped a proposed Annual General Meeting of ICAN owing to some irregularities in their voting process.
  • We are co-counsel to the Petitioner in a suit before the Federal High Court in which we seek to wind-up Afrijet Nigeria Limited.
  • We are currently representing a client, a United Kingdom company before an ICC Arbitration Panel in London.
  • We are currently representing a client, an entertainment company in a suit filed by one of the leading musical artiste in Nigeria.
  • We successfully recovered the sum of N60,000,000 against First Spring Realtors, a subsidiary of Spring Bank, in a negotiated settlement.
  • We successfully recovered well over N3,000,000 against Zenith Bank Nigeria, in a grand breaking suit where the court upheld our argument that Zenith Bank is duty bound to promote an employee.
  • We are also defendant one of the biggest Shipping/Bonded Terminal Company in Nigeria in a minority protection suit.
  • We are currently one of the leading debt recovery agents for Keystone Bank Limited.
